| Insertion
and removal of the ballon is simple and always supervised
by a professional. Regular supervision is also performed. |

INSERTION OF THE INTRAGASTRIC BALLOON (BIB) |

. The insertion does not require any type
of surgical procedure.
|
. A blood sample and a pre-anesthesia doctor's
visit are required a few days prior to insertion.
|
. A physician will perform a
fibroscopy, under anesthesia to check the stomach for possible
problems.
|
. If none are found during the procedure,
the physician will insert the balloon orally and safely place
in the stomach.
|
. The balloon (BIB) is then inflated..
|
. The lenght of the procedures varies between
20 and 30 minutes.
|
. You will then be placed under observation
at the clinic for a few hours before being sent home.
|
. A stomach X-ray will be performed a few
day later to ensure that the balloon is properly in place.

REMOVAL OF THE INTRAGASTRIC

. Six months later, in accordance with
the program protocol, the balloon will be removed the same
way it was inserted and by the same physician.

. The deflation and perforation of the
balloon are performed under endoscopic supervision..
|
. Is it then extracted using specific removal
tools.
|
. The time required for the removal procedure
and observation period are similar to that of the insertion.
