TECHNIQUES OF BIB PROGRAM

Insertion and removal of the ballon is simple and always supervised by a professional. Regular supervision is also performed.

INSERTION OF THE INTRAGASTRIC BALLOON (BIB)

. The insertion does not require any type of surgical procedure.
. A blood sample and a pre-anesthesia doctor's visit are required a few days prior to insertion.
. A physician will perform a fibroscopy, under anesthesia to check the stomach for possible problems.
. If none are found during the procedure, the physician will insert the balloon orally and safely place in the stomach.
. The balloon (BIB) is then inflated..
. The lenght of the procedures varies between 20 and 30 minutes.
. You will then be placed under observation at the clinic for a few hours before being sent home.
. A stomach X-ray will be performed a few day later to ensure that the balloon is properly in place.
